COOKWITHJAMMY/PRAWN CURRY WITHOUT COCONUT
Prawn curry without coconut- Prawns are good for bones and heart, here I had made simple and tasty prawn curry with easily available ingredients in home. This can be served for steamed rice, roti or chappati. Prawn curry can be made with or without coconut, this is a tasty time saving dish prepared without coconut.
INGREDIENTS
- Prawns- 14 no:
- Onion- 1 medium size
- Tomato- 1 medium size
- Ginger garlic paste- 1/2 tbsp
- Turmeric powder- 1 tsp
- Chilly powder- 1/2 tbsp
- Coriander powder- 1 tbsp
- Garam masala- 1 tsp
- Salt- As required

- Heat oil in kadai. Add onion and saute until it is soft.
- Add tomato, chopped ginger garlic and saute until tomato becomes soft and mushy.
- Allow the mix to cool. Now grind this mix in blender with some water and make a smooth paste.
- On that same kadai add some oil and add chilly powder,turmeric powder and coriander powder. To avoid burning add some water.
- Now add this onion tomato mix and add required amount of water for gravy. Cook in medium flame for about 5 minutes with required amount of salt.
- Add prawns and some curry leaves, cook in medium flame for about 10 minutes. Finally add garam masala and give it a nice mix.
- Turn off the flame and enjoy simple and tasty prawn curry.
- Be careful while preparing prawns, cooking for more time makes it harder.
- If you need even more richer gravy you can add cashews while grinding onion tomato mix.
- Adjust water according to how much gravy you need.
