Papaya payasam is a payasam which is made from papaya fruit. Here I am using ripened papaya. Usually we make this payasam during festive occasions.  This is an easy version because instead of coconut milk I have added cow milk. 
             
Papaya payasam


Ingredients
  1. Papaya-1/2 Portion
  2. Sugar-1/2 cup
  3. Cardamom powder-2 tsp
  4. Sabudana-1 tsp
  5. Ghee-3 tbsp
  6. Milk-11/2 cup
  7. Cashews-8
  8. Raisins-8

Instructions

  • Grate the papaya and keep it aside. 
        
Grated papaya

  •  To a pan add 2tbsp ghee and roast the nuts.
         
Roasting nuts

  • To the same pan, add grated papayas to the ghee and cook them until the water in papaya dissappears.
                 
Cooking papaya

  • On another vessel cook sabudana with some water.(optional)        
  • keep another pan and boil milk. To this add sugar and cooked sabudana. keep on stirring them in medium flame until milk gets slightly thick and turn off the flame.
             
Boiling milk

  • Now add the cardamom powder and cooked papayas and mix them.
               
Cooking papaya in milk

  •  Add roasted nuts and serve it hot or cool. Now the healthy tasty payasam is ready.

TIPS
After turning off  the flame, wait for 2-3 minutes then add the papayas to avoid curdling of milk.
