 Rava laddu- Popular sweet of india during festive season which is prepared using semolina, sugar and ghee. In this I had used jaggery instead of sugar and grated coconut can also be added. Tasty and simple sweet which can be made in lesser time.

Rava laduu

INGREDIENTS

  1. Rava - 11/2 cup
  2. Cashews- 10-12 no:
  3. Jaggery- 3/4 cup
  4. Coconut- 1/2 cup roasted
  5. Cardamom powder- 1tsp
  6. Ghee- As required

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Heat 1 tbsp of ghee in kadai. Roast cashews and keep aside.
Cashews
  • On that same kadai add coconut and roast slightly.
Coconut
  • Add 1 tbsp ghee and roast rava until smell comes(don't change the colour).
Rava
  • Grind this roasted rava and mix with all roasted ingredients along with cardamom powder.
Rava mix
  • Melt jaggery with 4 tbsp of water and turn off the flame.
Jaggery syrup
  • Add  jaggery syrup using seive to the rava mix to avoid any impurities.
Seive
  • Make laduus when its slightly warm. Soft and tasty laduus are ready to serve.

TIPS
  • If we can't hold laduus, add little milk for tightening  if you finish within a day or add ghee to stay good for about two weeks.
  • Adding coconut and nuts is optional.
