Papaya payasam is a payasam which is made from papaya fruit. Here I am using ripened papaya. Usually we make this payasam during festive occasions. This is an easy version because instead of coconut milk I have added cow milk.
Ingredients
- Papaya-1/2 Portion
- Sugar-1/2 cup
- Cardamom powder-2 tsp
- Sabudana-1 tsp
- Ghee-3 tbsp
- Milk-11/2 cup
- Cashews-8
- Raisins-8

Instructions
- Grate the papaya and keep it aside.
- To a pan add 2tbsp ghee and roast the nuts.
- To the same pan, add grated papayas to the ghee and cook them until the water in papaya dissappears.
- On another vessel cook sabudana with some water.(optional)
- keep another pan and boil milk. To this add sugar and cooked sabudana. keep on stirring them in medium flame until milk gets slightly thick and turn off the flame.
- Now add the cardamom powder and cooked papayas and mix them.
- Add roasted nuts and serve it hot or cool. Now the healthy tasty payasam is ready.
TIPS
After turning off the flame, wait for 2-3 minutes then add the papayas to avoid curdling of milk.
