Unniyappam is a popular sweet in kerala, which is made using rice flour. In tamil it is known as sweet paniyaram. Most of the people love unniyappam for their soft and fluffy texture. We offer unniyappam as nivedyam to Lord krishna during sree krishna jayanti.

- Raw rice-1 cup
- Banana-3-4
- Jaggery-250gms
- Cardamom powder-1 tsp
- Baking soda-a pinch
- Coconut pieces-2tbsp

- Now add the required quantity of melted Jaggery and cardamom powder to the flour and mix them. Batter consistency should not be too loose or very thick. Allow it to ferment for about 10-12 hours.
- Heat oil or ghee in the unniyappam pan. Fill only 3/4th of space with batter and cook in medium flame.cook until both the sides become light brown in colour.
If the batter turns thick after fermentation, you can loose the batter by adding 1 or 2tbsp melted jaggery and then make the unniyappam.
