COOKWITHJAMMY/Kara kozhukattai/Kozhukattai
Kozhukattai is a south indian dish which is made using rice flour. Different types of kozhukkattai are there. In this blog I am going to prepare Kara Kozhukattai.
Ingredients
- Rice flour-2.5 cups
- Jeera-2 tbsp
- Coconut-0.5 cup
- Red chilly-6-7
- Gingelly oil-1 tbsp
- Mustard seed
- salt as required
- Curry leaves
- For rice flour, soak raw rice in water for 2 hours.After that grind and seive the flour. Lightly roast the flour and transfer it to a vessel.
- To this add half cup of grated coconut.
- Now we can add jeera, salt and gingelly oil to it. Mix everything with hands.
- To this add light warm water and mix.
- Mix should not be too watery or dry.It must have some wetness, so that we can make balls easily.
- Now the balls are ready to cook. Cook it in idly plate or plain plate for 20 minutes. Now the kozhukatti's are ready.
- For tempering, heat oil in a pan. To this add mustard seeds, red chilly and curry leaves. Now add kozhukattai and mix well. If u wish u can add chilly powder also.
- Now the Kara Kozhukattai's are ready. You can serve it with coconut chutney.
